“Our modern kitchen has transformed the way that we live” Ian Amos, a firefighter and his partner, who is in the media, live in an unattached house in New Forest, Hampshire. They recently built an extension for their new kitchen.

 What do you want to do?

 What was your final decision you made the choice to buy the latest units?

 We had to choose from photos as the whole process started one week after the lockdown was initiated. The designers helped us remotely and we chose the doors from Homebase. It was a massive leap of faith but Homebase sent us doors in a variety of colours and we decided to go with gunmetal grey with a rose gold copper trim.

  Our kitchen was not practical and the kitchen appliances were getting old and worn out. We wanted a better layout, and also to expand the space in the garden to provide space to entertain.’

 What was your first step?

 We employed an architect to design designs for the extension.  So much soil was being removed, digging the foundations to build an extension seemed to take the whole day. We weren’t able to go to the showroom due to the most difficult difficulty, however we were able to make it. We had a long wait for the windows and then had decide on our third choice on the flooring due to issues with availability. Also, there were issues with stock with the appliances so we went with whatever was available.

 My vision is being realized. It’s a fantastic space for entertaining and cooking. It has changed our lives.

 What do you love most about the area?

 The Corian worktops are my absolute favorite. Although they’re expensive but they’re an excellent investment. They are stunning and last forever.
